Acute Sinusitis Problems

            Sinusitis is an inflammation condition of the sinus cavities.  The sinusitis begins when a person has existing swelling of the sinus cavity lining, caused by a cold or allergy, which becomes attacked by bacteria, and as a result more inflammation occurs and the cilia can no longer flush out the bacteria and mucus and the sinusitis infection begins.  When the sinusitis begins and up until a person has had it for twelve weeks, it is considered acute sinusitis.  Some of the problems that a person may have with acute sinusitis are facial pain and pressure, congestion, cough, postnasal drip, and green nasal discharge.  When the infection lasts for twelve of more weeks it is considered chronic and a person may have additional problems such as loss of sense of taste and smell and they may become fatigued.
