Sinusitis vs. Sinus Infection
It usually is preceded by a cold, allergy attack, or irritation by environmental pollutants. Unlike a cold, or allergy, bacterial sinusitis requires a physician's diagnosis and treatment with an antibiotic to cure the infection and prevent future complication. |
Sinusitis is caused by trapped bacteria and mucus in the sinus cavity. The bacteria become trapped when bacteria attack the already swollen cavity lining, which is usually due to a cold or allergies, causing more inflammation in the entrance to the cavity and in the cavities themselves. The bacteria and mucus cannot escape the cavities by way of the cilia because the exit is too inflamed. There are many symptoms a of a sinusitis infection. Sometimes patients will experience green posterior pharyngeal discharge, congestion, and persistent upper respiratory infection. Patients usually will also experience symptoms such a post-nasal drip, facial pain, cough, headache, and fever.
There are many treatments for sinusitis and its symptoms. One allergy medication that patients may use is Claritin. Claritin contains an antihistamine, which is used to control many allergy symptoms such as runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Claritin however is not a sinusitis medication and will not cure the sinusitis infection. There are many other medications for that. Many patients may try nasal sprays. Nasal sprays will only help the lower sinuses since its large particle size cannot make it past the inflammation in the opening to the sinus cavity to actually get to the sinusitis infection. Oral antibiotics are also repeatedly used by physicians to treat sinusitis. With oral antibiotics however, it is difficult for the medication to arrive at the sinus cavity, since there are such few blood vessels in that area.
Patient’s sinusitis can use an effective and easy treatment from Sinus Dynamics. Sinus Dynamics is the most advanced form of treatment on the market. Sinus Dynamics antibiotics, anti-fungals, and anti inflammatories are used in a nebulized form, making it easy for the 3.2 micron sized particles to make their way through the infection and inflammation at the opening of the sinus cavity, to get to where the infection is, and to where no other medication can effectively get to. Sinus Dynamics antibiotics are more effective than oral antibiotics in a sinus infection, due to them being directly nebulized into the infection and strait into the blood stream in the sinus cavities. There are little to no side effects because such a small amount of medicine is used and will not travel through the blood stream into the rest of the body. Sinus Dynamics 98% success rate clearly shows that this is the most successful treatment for sinusitis.
